Sterilizer Manufacturer:
Tuttnauer
Model of Sterilizer:
Tuttnauer 2540M/MK
Problem Title:
Unit heats some, but cycles on and off w/o getting pressure
Problem Description:
The unit has power and when timer is on and power switch in "start" position heating elements are on (heat light) for a brief time, but the heating seems to cycle on and off without getting hot enough to boil the water, make steam, and build up pressure in autoclave. I haven't been able to find a circuit diagram to follow and check each circuit, but the main thermostat seems to be working fine (has continuity through it at all times). The "heat" light goes on and off periodically. I have not checked the safety thermostats (there seem to be two of them) Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Solutions

1. 1) Did any water remain inside the chamber after you found no high temperature and pressure built?
2) Did you see any water flews back to the reservoir?
3) Did you check the temperature control: thermostat. to make sure it is not out of calibration. You can take the temperature adjust knot off, then you can calibrate it.
4) Any leak from this machine?
5) Did you try it in low temperature settings, such as 250F. Does the machine work for 250F settings?

It is hard to know exact reason, before we test it. Please email the detailed information to us at lj@sterilizers.com, then I will get back with you.
