Problem Title:
Autoclave - Controlling Chamber Pressure During Exhaust |
Problem Description:
I am a graduate research assistant in Jennifer Maynard's group at the University of Texas at Austin. We recently purchased an autoclave (www.LabClave.com) and are experiencing a problem with it. I attempted to contact LabClave.com's customer service and was redirected to this web site. Upon exhausting, the chamber pressure is dropping to roughly 85-90 kPa before equilibrating with atmospheric pressure. Consequently, liquids being autoclaved partially evaporate--changing the desired volumes. Is there any way to program the autoclave such that it will not drop below atmospheric pressure? Thanks for your help, Ross Gonzales gonzales@che.utexas.edu |
Solutions |
1. On the left hand side of the machine, in front of the generator, there is a value with small red knob on it. Close that, and open 1 turn to see it helps vacuum. One last thing, did you install yourselves? On top of the machine in the back, there is red filter, make sure the plastic is taking off it. |
