Sterilizer Manufacturer:
Tuttnauer
Model of Sterilizer:
Tuttnauer 3870 E
Problem Title:
Tuttnauer Heat Up Problem
Problem Description:
Unit turns on but produces no heat or insufficient heat
Reasons
1. Wall outlet power supply
For 110V machine, the voltage should be 110V-125V;
For 220V machine, the voltage should be 220V-235V
2. the connections to heating elements or the heating elements themselves
1730E - 120V 13 Ohms (35-40 Ohms each)
1730E - 230V 48 Ohms (145-150 Ohms each)
1730EK - 120V 9 Ohms (30-35 Ohms each)
1730EK - 230V 38 Ohms (110-115 Ohms each)
2340E, EA - 120V 9-10 Ohms (35-40 Ohms each)
2340E, EA - 230V 35 Ohms (140-145 Ohms each)
2340EK, 2340 EKA - 230V 21 Ohms (85-93 Ohms each)
2540E, EA - 120V 9-10 Ohms (35-40 Ohms each)
2540E, EA - 230V 35 Ohms (140-145 Ohms each)
2540EK, 2340 EKA - 230V 21 Ohms (85-93 Ohms each)
3870E, EA - 230V 19 Ohms (110-115 Ohms each)

3. SSR (Solid State Relay), which is used to control the heating elememnts On/Off
4. For the Units before Model T93N3, there is a Safety Thermostat, which also control the heating elements On/Off

Solutions

1. Make sure have proper AC power supply
2. Check the heating elements' ohm readings to make sure match their requirements. The following is an example for Tuttnauer 3870 machine.
3. Check the SSR relay, to make sure it work properly. Make sure the DC between TP1 and TP12 on the Ajunc board is 0-1V for heaters ON and 3.5-5V for heaters OFF.
Then check the heaters' AC voltage to make sure its valve properly when the SSR is ON/OFF status. Otherwise, replace the SSR
4. Check the safety thermostat
