Sterilizer Manufacturer:
ALFA Medical Equipment
Model of Sterilizer:
Problem Title:
no power
Problem Description:
this is a ALFA pelton crane bought from alpha 2 years ago. the unit blew the gfi this afternoon. reset the gfi the unit buzzes when plugged in but the red and yellow lights to not come on. i'm thinking it is a fuse but i don't see one accessible from the outside.
Reasons
1. Heater element or TCR4C may be bad. The main heater element should read around 12 ohms. If the timer is on and the heating element is not shorted or open, I would suspect the TCR4C heater controller. The cover needs to be removed to check either. The TCR4C can be checked by uplugging the sterilizer and disconnecting #1 and #2 from the 6 contact black relay on the heatsink in the back and connecting them together, making sure the connection is isolated and then retest for lights and heat. Do not try to run a full cycle with the controller bypassed.
