Sterilizer Manufacturer:
Tuttnauer
Model of Sterilizer:
Tuttnauer 2340M/MK
Problem Title:
Loss of temperature before cycle finished
Problem Description:
Sterilizer heats only to 250F when temp is set for 274F. Lots of steam escapes from water chamber and out of the top plastic cover. A hissing sound accompanies the steam in the water chamber. The temperature and pressure then drop while heat light remains on. The heat light will then go off when the gauge is almost at zero temperature and pressure. At this time there is still time on the timer. The chamber is empty of water when it is open and sometimes the instrument bags are slightly brown and the chamber smells slightly like something is burning. Another problem sometimes experienced is the entry of water into the chamber during the drying cycle after the chamber door has been opened. The chamber will fill and empty the water reservoir if the control is not turned to off.

Solutions

1. The problem is the machine runs out of water inside the chamber.

There are many possibilities of running out of water: Maybe the multiple function valve is leaking, maybe the air bleeding jet is out of order, maybe the safety valve is leaking, maybe the door gasekt is leaking, maybe the door lock bellow is leaking, ... hard to tell you which one is the problem. But you can visually check where the steam comes out. Then you can replace the parts.
